課程概述 |
1.本課程使用的教材為《實用視聽華語一》 (第五課~第十二課)，希望能提高並鞏固學生運用「聽說讀寫」四方面的語言能力，學習生活語言外的常用詞彙與文法，並能得體使用華語與人溝通、討論，期望學生也能透過課程，進一步了解華語及台灣文化。
This course is constructed around the textbook Practical Audio-Visual Chinese I (Lesson 5-12), and is aiming to improve and consolidate students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Besides the four skills, this course would also love to provide a perspective on Taiwanese culture regarding the subject the textbook mentions.
2.本課程授課語言以中文為主,英文為輔。
The class will be taught in Mandarin, with minimum English only when necessary.

課程目標 |
1.建立基本的聽說讀寫能力。
Build up the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
2.能以中文與他人進行簡易而基本的日常會話。
Understand and use simple Chinese words and phrases to meet basic needs for daily conversation.
3.能讀懂課程範圍內的正體字，並能寫出至少一百字的短文表達個人想法。
Recognize traditional Chinese characters from the textbook and write a short essay of at least 100 words to express opinions. |

課程要求 |
1. 準時上課，不要遲到早退。遲到二十分鐘，視同缺課。
Attend the class on time. The student is taken as absent if he/she is 20 minutes late for the class.
2. 課堂中請說中文。
Only “Chinese” in class.
3. 預習和複習上課內容。
Preview and review.
4. 作業不可遲交。
No longer acceptation after deadline.
5. 考試不可作弊。
No cheating in quizzes or exam.
6. 除非有特別要求，否則所有的功課和考試都必須寫中國字。
Write Chinese characters in homework and test.
7. 如果需要請假，請兩天前告知講師。（病假例外）
If students need to take a day off, please tell the instructor two days before. Except for sick leave.
8. 課堂中請勿抽菸、喝酒和吃東西。
No alcohol, No smoking and No food in class, allowed drinking.
9. 上課不能使用電子產品（手機、電腦），除非教師同意。
Electronic devices (mobile phones, computers) cannot be used in class unless the teacher agrees.
10. 上課專心聽講，勿聊天談話。
Listen attentively to the teacher in the class, no chatting in class.
11. 尊重同學的發言權和受教權。
Respect classmates’ right to speak and the right of learning. |

1. 遲到或早退20分鐘都以缺席1小時計。
2. 一個學期有6小時沒來上課，老師不會扣分。從第7個小時開始，1個小時扣0.15分。
3. 如果需要請假，請先寫信跟老師說，病假例外。請假3個小時扣0.5分。
1)Late for class more than 20 minutes or leave class 20 minutes earlier than scheduled time will be regarded as one-hour absence.2)Students won’t lose any point if they are absent within 3 hours. However, students will lose 0.2 points per hour from the 4th hour.
3)If students need to take a day off (medical or official excuses ), please tell the instructor in advance. Except for sick leave. Students will lose 0.5 point every 3 hours. |

(1)每次上課皆須攜帶課本、講義。 Bring all the materials you are supposed to use when you come to class.
(2)積極參與課程 active participation in class;
(3)課前充分準備 adequate preparation before class;
(4) 盡可能的完成課堂任務的demonstrated effort in completing assigned tasks;
(5) 不在課堂中寫作業或是與進行課程無關的活動，如聊天或睡覺。Students should not write homework or do other things that are not related to the course, such as chatting with classmates or sleeping during class hour. |

平時考 Test |
15% |
(1)每次上課（期中考及期末考除外）都有聽寫小考。上課鐘響就考試，考試時間為10-15分鐘，你需要寫下你聽到的漢字、拼音和聲調。遲到、請假或缺席者不補考。A dictation quiz will be given at the start of every class for about 10-15 minutes (except when taking the mid-term and final exams). You will need to write down characters, tones, and pinyin based on what you hear. No make-up quiz will be provided.
(2)聽寫成績中，最差的三次分數不予計算。The lowest 3 quiz scores will be dropped.
(3)每上完一課會安排一次複習測驗，測驗內容為筆試（含聽力測驗）。考試時間大約2個小時。因故無法參加考試者，須在一周內補考。 補考成績扣10分。A review test will be given at the end of every lesson. The test will be a written test (including listening comprehension) and it takes approximately 2 hours. If a student misses a test for a legitimate reason, the student should take the make-up test within one week of the original exam date. 10 points will be deducted for make-up exam.
(4)如有作弊行為，當次考試以零分計算。 Any student who is caught cheating will receive a grade of ZERO on the test. |

作業 Homework |
15% |
(1)作業包括生字、學生作業簿以及其他作業，如短文練習。This includes Chinese character writing, Student workbook and some other assignments, such as writing narrations.
(2)應準時繳交作業，遲交該份作業成績扣10分，且應在一周內補交，超過規定時間視同未交。 All assignments must be handed in on time. 10 points will be deducted for late homework. Assignments not received within one week past. Submit your work ahead of time if you may miss the class of those days.
(3)作業請寫在A4紙上。（紙本作業只收A4紙張）
Write the homework on the A4 loose-leaf papers (and only A4 papers are accepted)
(4) 每份作業成績都會被計算。未完成的作業（超過一個或更多的部分）、抄襲同學的答案、遲交逾期都將零分計算。You will receive grades for each complete homework. Incomplete homework (miss more than one item), late homework or copy of classmates' homework will receive No Grades (for both people) |

期中考 Mid-term exam |

1) 包括筆試（含聽力測驗）及口試。 The exam consists of listening comprehension, a written test and an oral test.
(2)考試時禁止使用手機及課本。No cell phone or books are allowed during any type of test.
(3) 口試需要記下對話內容。口試時讀稿視同作弊，將不予計分。Oral exam requires memorization of the dialogue content. Reading from the script on the oral exam is considered as cheating and will receive No grades.
(4)期中考將於指定日期舉行，不能補考。若因無法避免的因素不能參加考試，須提前告知老師並擇期補考，否則將以零分計算。The midterm exam will be given only on the assigned days. There will be no make-up exam unless there are absolutely unavoidable circumstances such as serious illness, or a death in the family. If you are unable to attend the exam due to circumstances beyond your control, you must notify the teacher in advance and request an alternative exam time or date. |
